Jamie Franklin - Based Vicar

This is a truly fascinating conversation with Rev Dr Jamie Franklin, a 'based vicar' and host of the Irreverend podcast. Jamie talks to Nick about:

-The experience that made him become a Christian
-Why we shouldn’t leave the Church of England
-What Dawkins and Sam Harris get wrong
-Why atheists believe in magic
-The flaws of evangelical Christianity
-Why beauty in art matters
-His worst failure as a Christian
And we also prove the existence of God. You’re welcome.

Best episode and, in my opinion, most important and intense episode yet. I absolutely agree with the Rev that simply following the nominal values is never going to be enough: Jesus is who He says He is or He is not. If He is the truth, then we follow in faith. I also agree with you: wishing and feeling I would be a better fit living in the 1950s!

Re your “decision to believe” argument- Jesus says “knock on the door and he will answer”. Implying a leap of faith needs to be made and then He joins you. At least this is my experience.
